Job summary

Flexible Learning School is seeking an enthusiastic Music Teacher - Level 1 to plan and deliver engaging secondary Music lessons, adapting to diverse needs and supporting pupils to develop musical knowledge, skills and confidence.

You will assess pupil progress, provide feedback and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment while collaborating with colleagues and safeguarding teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS/PGCE or equivalent.
• Degree in Music or related subject.
• Experience teaching music to secondary-aged pupils.
• Ability to plan and differentiate lessons for diverse needs.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and improving pupil outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons for secondary pupils.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual needs and SEND/SEMH pupils.
• Develop pupils' musical knowledge, practical skills and confidence.
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress with constructive feedback.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment with effective behaviour management.
• Maintain pupil records and collaborate with colleagues and professionals.
• Support pupils working towards Music qualifications where applicable.
• Follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
