Job summary

Career Teachers is recruiting a Classroom Supervisor to support secondary schools across Harrogate. You will supervise classes during teacher absences, deliver pre-prepared lessons, and help maintain a positive learning environment.

Roles range from short-term cover to longer placements, with flexibility for full-time or part-time hours. Ideal candidates will have experience with young people, strong classroom management, and calm adaptability in a busy school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school or similar setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Availability between 8:00am and 3:30pm is essential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes across KS3-KS5 during teacher absences.
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring students remain engaged.
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Supporting students with questions and helping keep lessons running smoothly.
• Opportunities available for both short-term cover and long-term placements.
