This vital role begins immediately, offering a rewarding annual salary between £21,500 and £24,500, and operates during term time only from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar setting or bring transferable skills from roles such as youth work, social care, or pastoral support. Patience, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-the-ground support to students across the school who may present behavioural challenges.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to help guide young people through emotional or behavioural difficulties.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral leads, and external agencies to implement tailored interventions.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and resilience through consistent, supportive engagement.
  • Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in a support, pastoral, or mentoring role.
  • Calm, patient, and non-judgemental approach to managing challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport.
  • Resilience and confidence in a fast-paced school environment.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
  • Full-time, stable role during term time only.
  • Opportunity to make a real impact in young people's lives.
  • Collaborative school team and supportive SLT.
  • Access to ongoing training and development through GSL.
