Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions is hiring for a forklift operator at our alternative engineered fuel facility in Gray Court, SC, on the second shift. The role focuses on loading and unloading waste, operating a forklift with attachments, and maintaining a safe, clean work area.

You will follow health and safety policies, perform daily inspections, handle samples for analysis, and work with PPE. Requirements include 1–3 years shipping/receiving experience, valid driver's license, and high school

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of shipping/receiving and warehouse experience.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Able to operate forklift/heavy equipment.
• Able to work well with others.
• Lift up to 75lbs.
• Standing, sitting, bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing.

Responsibilities

• Follow Health & Safety policies and act safely at all times.
• Monitor area equipment and notify supervisor of issues.
• Unload and load wastes per company rules and regulations.
• Offload and check-in inbound waste streams.
• Perform daily PM and inspections on operating equipment.
• Load/unload waste safely per regulations.
• Operate a forklift with attachments.
• Verify manifested types/quantities against containers received.
• Take samples for analysis and compatibility checks.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, walls, pits, and floors.
• Understand coding/labeling systems for containers.
• May require PPE use and other duties assigned by Plant Manager.
