Job summary

Yard Sale Pizza is looking for a Second Pizza Chef to join our busy kitchen in London. You will help run shifts, stretch dough, bake pizzas, and ensure service runs smoothly while upholding high cleanliness standards.

We offer a competitive hourly rate with bonuses, overtime paid, and strong progression opportunities toward a Head Chef role. Weekend work is required, and you’ll enjoy free pizza on shift and staff events.

Qualifications

Experience stretching, baking and dough preparation in a fast-paced kitchen.
Strong English communication and teamwork.
Willing to work weekends.

Responsibilities

Ensure kitchen service runs smoothly.
Lead shifts in the absence of the Head Chef.
Maintain cleanliness and organise deep cleans.
Train the team alongside the Head Chef.
Complete prep as required and manage your workstation.
Work collaboratively with the wider team.

Who are we?

Yard Sale Pizza fired up the oven in 2014, starting with weekly supper clubs from our backyard in Hackney. We now offer delivery, dine-in and takeaway in 17 of our favourite neighbourhoods. Known for our collaborations, we’ve teamed up with illustrators, musicians, international chefs & local eateries- all on the quest for the perfect pie!

We’ve won London’s most-loved restaurant in Time Out’s 2016 Love London awards, were awarded Best Cheap Eats in the Observer Food Monthly Awards in 2017, and were voted London’s favourite pizza in Time Out’s inaugural Clash of the Slices in 2022.

We’re a young and fast-growing company who offer plenty of career progression for hard working and talented individuals.

What will I be doing?

Ensuring the kitchen service is running smoothly.
Leading shifts and taking ownership in the absence of the Head Chef.
Adhering to the highest standards, including cleanliness and organising deep cleans.
Training the team alongside the Head Chef.
Completing all prep as required and taking responsibility for your workstation.
Work collaboratively in a team alongside the wider team.

What are we looking for?

Someone with previous experience stretching, baking and making dough in a fast-paced environment.
Someone with a good command of English.
An excellent communicator who enjoys being part of a team!
Someone who is willing to work weekends.
