Barchester Healthcare is seeking a qualified Second Chef to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, delivering hotel/restaurant standards with a warm, resident-focused approach and the sense that every plate matters.

You will assist menu development, work with fresh seasonal ingredients, tailor menus to residents' needs, and create nutritious, flavoursome dishes while ensuring budgeting, HACCP compliance, and stock control across our homes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of nutrition and balanced menus for residents.
• Experience working with fresh seasonal food to deliver high-quality meals.
• Ability to create warm, welcoming environments for residents.

Responsibilities

• Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
• Assist Head Chef in menu development
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality, wholesome dishes
• Create a warm, efficient and enjoyable environment for residents
• Work within budget and control costs
• Complete regular audits and maintain HACCP standards
• Manage stock control and ordering
