Ashberry Healthcare Limited is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Second Chef for Moorhouse Care Home in Hindhead, Surrey. The role supports the Head Chef with menu planning, food preparation, and keeping high kitchen hygiene standards, delivering nutritious meals for residents.

The post offers 34.5 hours per week over Wednesday to Friday, with enhanced rates for nights and overtime. A DBS check is required, and applicants should have a Food Hygiene certificate and experience in a professional

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen, preferably within care or hospitality.
• Knowledge of dietary needs and nutritional requirements for older adults.
• Food Hygiene certificate (Level 2 or above).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve balanced, high-quality meals in line with residents' dietary needs and preferences.
• Support the Head Chef in menu planning, stock control, and ordering supplies.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards.
• Assist in supervising and training kitchen staff as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment at all times.
• Adapt meals for residents with modified or specialist diets.
• Contribute to a positive dining experience that promotes residents' wellbeing.
