Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting for a Seasonal Mail Sorter at Greenford Mail Centre for the festive period. No prior warehouse or sorting experience is required; bring enthusiasm and join a busy team delivering cards, gifts and parcels.

Night shifts from 22:00 to 06:00 offer a rate of £19 per hour, with on-site facilities depending on location. Roles involve unloading, moving and sorting mail, with a focus on accuracy and pace.

‘Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you’ll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns available at Greenford Mail Centre, Green Bus Park, Green Park Way, GREENFORD, UB6 0GG, including the following core shift patterns:

• Nights: 22:00 - 06:00 (£19.00 p/h)

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What You’ll Need To Join The Team

You don’t need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We’re looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands-on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
