Job summary

Tough Lover Theatricals Ltd invites applications for a Wigs, Hair & Make Up assistant to support Opera North's Wigs, Hair & Make Up team in performance contexts.

This fixed term, full-time position runs for 2 months. Based at the Howard Opera Centre in Leeds, you will travel to other venues as required and earn £640 per week. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Wigs, Hair & Make Up assistant in theatre and touring is essential.
• Previous experience of preparation and application of prosthetics.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Application of wigs/facial hair and hair styling before a performance and during quick changes.
• Application of all aspects of makeup associated with theatre.
• Assisting with the preparation and daily maintenance of all show wigs [modern and period] as required and to maintain the departments high standards.
• Acquiring a familiarity with all show plots to allow for absence cover for others in the team and make accurate notes for others.
• Attending all rehearsals, show calls, maintenance calls, get ins, fit ups, get outs as scheduled.
• Always complying with the department/company/venue Health & safety requirements.

Contract type: Fixed Term, Full Time (2 months)

Salary: £640 per week

Hours of work: An average of 44 hours per week, across the contracted period

Place of work: you will be based at Howard Opera Centre, Leeds (you'll be expected to travel to other venues as part of the role also).
