Job summary

Derby City Council is recruiting full-time Gardeners to perform gardening and general grounds maintenance duties across the City’s land and contracts. The role requires a Full Manual Driving Licence and NVQ Level 2 or equivalent horticultural qualifications, plus basic grounds maintenance experience and use of equipment such as hedge cutters, mowers, and strimmers.

Qualifications

• Full manual driving licence is required.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent horticultural qualifications.
• Basic experience in grounds maintenance and using professional equipment.
• Experience with advanced grounds maintenance equipment such as ride-on mowers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out gardening and general grounds maintenance duties across Derby City Council land, properties and contracts.
• Work to Health and Safety regulations and ensure high standards of customer satisfaction.
• May be required to work seasonal hours and start early at various locations across the City of Derby.
