We are currently recruiting for a Seasonal Bartender at Fermain Valley Hotel, part of Hand Picked Hotels. The contract will be until September 2025.

Fermain Valley is a 4 star luxury hotel in Guernsey, with a beautiful cliff top position offering breathtaking views of the neighboroughing Channel Islands. All 49 rooms in this luxury hotel in Guernsey are individually designed to create an air of calm, allowing guests to completely unwind. Our award-winning chefs have created mouth-watering menus for the Rock Garden Steakhouse, Búho and the Terrace. The carefully crafted menus offer something for all tastes. Three of Guernsey’s best restaurants are located at the Fermain Valley Hotel and we’re extremely proud of their popularity with both locals and visitors.

About the Role

• The role of a Bartender involves assisting the team in ensuring delivery of the bar operations to Hand Picked Hotels standards ensuring high standards of presentation are always maintained.
• Responsible for preparing, creating and serving a variety of bar snacks and beverages. Always seeking opportunities of creativity and upselling
• You will be expected to be able to hold a good level of knowledge regarding food/drink menu items and availability across all areas including the bar and restaurant.
• Working towards the achievement of departmental goals, contributing ideas and being open to trying new ways of working. Take personal ownership, operating within role parameters.
• As the Bartender, you will be expected to communicate and delegate in line with business levels and daily functions
• Most of all we will want you to be inspired, have fun and enjoy being part of our Hand Picked Team.

About you:

• To be considered for this role you will have previous bartending experience
• You will be enthusiastic and willing to take on new responsibilities. Adopt a flexible approach to assist in different areas of the hotel as business and guest needs dictate.
• Having a high level of emotional intelligence, enabling you to be able to anticipate our guests needs ensuring they receive a Hand Picked experience.
• It is essential you can demonstrate how you would be able to deliver our guest experience standards at Hand Picked Hotels, which includes the ability to go above and beyond to ensure guests have a high-quality, personalised, and magical experience that they remember, recommend, and return to time and time again.

Company Benefits

• A competitive salary package of £13.82 per hour plus a share of service charge.
• End of season loyalty bonus depending on length of contract.
• Live in Accommodation charged at between £52 -£90 per week inclusive of all meals and bills.
• This is a Full-Time role working 5 days out of 7 including weekends on a rota basis, which may vary depending on business needs.
• Pro rata equivalent of 29 holidays per annum – which will be paid at the end of your seasonal assignment.
• Use of Health Club Facilities including Gym and swimming pool (restrictions apply).
