Job summary

Right Now Group is recruiting an experienced Sea Freight Import Operator to manage end-to-end sea freight import shipments from origin through to final delivery in Feltham. You will coordinate with overseas agents, shipping lines, customers and customs to ensure efficient, compliant handling and excellent service.

The role requires previous sea freight imports experience in a freight forwarding environment, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple consignments with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Sea Freight Imports for a freight forwarding company.
• Good understanding of import customs procedures and documentation.
• Experience coordinating FCL and LCL import shipments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end sea freight import process from booking through to final delivery.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, ports, hauliers, and customers to ensure smooth movement of freight.
• Arrange customs clearance and ensure import documentation is completed accurately and compliantly.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide customers with regular updates.
• Coordinate deliveries with transport providers and warehouses.
• Check supplier invoices and raise customer invoices accurately.
• Resolve shipment delays or operational issues promptly and professionally.
• Ensure all files are completed accurately within the freight forwarding system.
• Maintain excellent customer service while building strong client relationships.

Sea Freight Import Operator

Right Now Group are recruiting for an experienced Sea Freight Import Operator on behalf of a well-established freight forwarding business based in Feltham.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing import operations team, taking responsibility for the end-to-end coordination of sea freight import shipments from origin through to final delivery.

The successful candidate will manage multiple import consignments, liaising with overseas agents, shipping lines, customers, hauliers, and customs authorities to ensure shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly, and with the highest levels of customer service. This role would suit someone with previous sea freight import experience who thrives in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.

Key Responsibilities of a Sea Freight Import Operator

• Manage the end-to-end sea freight import process from booking through to final delivery.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, ports, hauliers, and customers to ensure the smooth movement of freight.

• Previous experience working within Sea Freight Imports for a freight forwarding company.
• Good understanding of import customs procedures and documentation.
• Experience coordinating FCL and LCL import shipments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a busy operations team.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and freight forwarding systems.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
