About the Company

Our long-established logistics client specializes in air and sea freight solutions for their blue-chip customers in the UK and globally. They are currently seeking an experienced Sea Freight Export Clerk for their Birmingham branch to enhance their highly skilled team.

Role Overview

As a Sea Freight Export Clerk, you will manage orders, handle customer inquiries, prepare export documentation, bills of lading, and collaborate closely with other branches to service UK customers. Your daily tasks will include arranging export collections, checking deliveries, instructing customs for documentation, and providing administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Communicate effectively with customers, partners, and internal departments via email and phone.
2. Update and verify the company's order management system with booking details.
3. Liaise with operations and overseas offices to ensure delivery commitments are met.
4. Monitor shipments to ensure timely deliveries.
5. Ensure consignments have accurate information.
6. Proactively resolve issues with customers and colleagues.
7. Ensure correct rating of consignments for accurate invoicing.
8. Provide KPIs and reports as required.
9. Resolve credit management queries when necessary.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for proactive, organized individuals with sea/ocean export experience and knowledge of shipment arrangements and documentation. You should be detail-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment, computer literate, numerate, and a confident communicator.

Preferred Experience

Experience with bookings, quotes, export entries, and bill of lading production is essential.
