Job summary

Financial Ombudsman Service in London is seeking an Automation Tester (SDET) on a 6-month FTC to lead the test automation strategy and deliver scalable automation solutions. The role offers hybrid working and collaboration across multiple applications within our IT Apps and Development team.

You will drive automation maturity, balance hands-on delivery with leadership, and work with developers, testers and analysts to raise quality across the SDLC. Salary up to £63,000 and 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks using Selenium or equivalent.
• Proven track record in automation testing within fast-paced Agile delivery environments.
• Strong ability to define automation strategies, roadmaps and governance.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with SQL/database testing and data validation.
• Desirable exposure to AI-enabled testing approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead test automation strategy, frameworks and engineering practices to improve quality and efficiency.
• Design, build and enhance scalable automation solutions across the software lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.
• Drive continuous improvement by increasing automation coverage and ROI.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and product owners to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Provide coaching and guidance to grow automation capability across teams.
