Job summary

Compare the Market in London/Peterborough is seeking an SDET to design and build automated test frameworks, and to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate with software engineers, product managers and architects to embed quality early in development.

We expect hands-on experience with API/UI testing, and familiarity with native app testing frameworks or Appium. Hybrid work model offered, with a focus on performance and security testing where possible.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience designing automated tests for APIs, UI and integration testing.
• Experience with native app testing frameworks (Espresso / XCTest) or Appium/ Maestro.
• CI/CD integration of automated tests and version control with Git.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and reusable test solutions.
• Build automated API, integration, end-to-end and non-functional tests.
• Develop and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines for rapid feedback.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers and architects to define quality strategies.
• Champion testing best practices and shift-left testing.
• Contribute to internal tooling to improve testing efficiency.
• Support root cause analysis and preventative quality improvements.
• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement activities.
• Evaluate emerging tools and approaches to enhance quality practices.
