Job summary

Jobtailor in London seeks an experienced Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and deliver test solutions. You will oversee automation frameworks, drive best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.

The role requires hands-on API and front-end testing, with Cypress or Playwright, and a proven track record building test frameworks from scratch. Occasional travel to client sites, primarily London, is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of scripting and programming in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Security clearance (SC) or eligible.
• Experience running projects directly with clients with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Front-end testing with Cypress or Playwright.
• Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience with API testing (RestAssured or SoapUI).
• Docker and Kubernetes familiarity.
• CI/CD familiarity (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Knowledge of testing microservices and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Accessibility testing understanding.

• Keep up to date with industry standards and advances.
• Oversee development, implementation, and maintenance of automated test scripts.
• Verify usability, functionality, performance, and scalability of applications.
• Build automation tools and expand framework functionality for team needs.
• Establish processes for automation and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with client teams to establish testing best practices.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve automation challenges.
• Travel to client sites as required, mainly London.
