The opportunity

Due to growth, Leonardo has an exciting opportunity for a Scrum Master in the Firmware development team. As a Scrum Master, you will help create and lead self-organising teams to successfully deliver complex and innovative projects that delight customers.

You will be part of a community of diverse Project Management professionals, bringing your own skills and experiences to contribute towards business improvement initiatives, ensuring best practices and high performance across the business. You will help drive the adoption of Agile practices while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement within our Scrum teams. The ideal candidate will have experience with Scrum and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), along with a passion for coaching and developing high-performing teams. The role will be a mix of home-based and onsite work.

What You’ll Do As a Scrum Master

We seek an experienced and motivated Scrum Master to provide servant-leadership for at least two Scrum teams. This role involves guiding teams through the Agile process, facilitating ceremonies, resolving blockers, and ensuring smooth delivery within an Agile framework. You will collaborate closely with product owners, stakeholders, and development teams to achieve ART and sprint objectives.

  • Facilitate PI Planning sessions to ensure successful and aligned ARTs.
  • Work with product owners to ensure features are clear and backlog items are prioritized.
  • Foster collaboration and communication within teams.
  • Promote continuous improvement and help teams identify productivity enhancements.
  • Mentor and coach team members on Agile practices.
  • Ensure teams follow Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile methodologies adapted to business needs.
  • Share Agile practices organization-wide to promote awareness and consistency.

What We Need From You

Your leadership and agile mindset should enable you to build and lead high-performing, diverse teams to deliver successful outcomes. You should demonstrate:

  • At least 3 years of proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SAFe methodology and PI Planning.
  • Experience with Scrum/Kanban methodologies and applying them based on team needs.
  • Proficiency with Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence, including reporting and dashboards.
  • Knowledge of BigPicture (desirable) for managing Agile initiatives in JIRA.
  • Experience leading teams through PI Planning sessions.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills to empower teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to foster collaboration, resolve conflicts, and remove obstacles.
  • Knowledge of FPGAs / SoCs (a plus), and experience within Engineering or Technology Infrastructure teams (desirable).
  • SAFe certification (e.g., SSM) is highly desirable.
