The Role
As Scrum Master you will play a significant role in supporting the team to develop software, that provides sovereign communications capability for critical strategic communications, as well as help more broadly across Mission Systems.

Day-to-day, you’ll work across our portfolio of software projects. You’ll also support delivery teams both through direct support and coaching to embed effective agile processes.

  • Ensuring the team is working efficiently against best agile software practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Ensure software releases, updates, and deployment activities deliver software capabilities that meet our customer’s expectations, happen in an efficient way, are monitored and managed, to meet an agreed schedule and budget.
  • Ensure best practice and agile techniques are spread across multiple teams within the business to support those teams recently moving towards agile processes.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides flexible hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.


Essential Experience of the Scrum Master

  • Working as part of a team or teams to enable and drive Agile Software Engineering best practices.
  • Organising and leading Scrum events, delivering against Scrum goals, and managing a continuous improvement process.
  • Working with a Product Owner or Delivery Lead to ensure targeted software delivery and identifying and removing obstacles from agile team delivery and protecting the team from external threats.
  • Producing reports from gathered metrics to highlight progress against backlog, estimated schedules and any issues or blockers and supporting adoption and delivery of the implementation strategy (branching, release).
  • Experience using a modern IDE, DevOps and Automated Testing.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. The successful candidate may be required to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) security check once in post.
