Optegra Eye Healthcare is seeking a Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join the ophthalmic surgical pathway. You will provide clinical and technical support in the operating theatre and may assist with peri-operative and post-operative care within the surgical and refractive suite.
Responsibilities include ensuring instrument availability, equipment decontamination, and maintaining complete documentation for traceability.
The job holder will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway at Optegra. They will provide excellent care to all patients, with specific responsibility for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team, and also may include peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical and refractive suite of the hospital, and assisting with minor operations., Carries out a full range of registered heath care professional duties, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients condition and care with support from the Practitioner in charge. Maintains the privacy and dignity of all patients whilst adhering to Trust and department policies, reporting any difficulties with these duties to senior staff. - Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, by provision or appropriate surgical instrumentation and equipment. - Take responsibility to ensure all surgical equipment is disposed of correctly including ensuring appropriate decontamination and sterilisation of reusable equipment is carried out and can be evidenced. - Ensure all documentation for traceability is effectively completed.
