Job summary

BDS Ltd. in North Yorkshire is seeking a Screen Printing Operative to support our glass printing department.

You will operate a screen-printing machine, follow safety procedures, and maintain quality during production. You will work Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 5.00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break, and complete a 3-month probation period with salary progression from £12.71 to £13.22 per hour after completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in print production, preferably with semi-auto screen printing machines and Debuit.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control throughout production.
• Good communication and ability to work with internal teams.
• Able to organise and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks on equipment and set up machines for jobs.
• Check screens and inks, monitor print quality and defects.
• Produce samples for pre-production approval and maintain standards.
• Assist with machine strip down, cleaning and loading/unloading Lehr.

Job description

Screen Printing Operative

Salary: £13.22 per hour (£32,650 pa) on completion of successful 3-month Probation Period.

(£12.71 during initial 3 month Probation Period)

Factory based: Barlby , North Yorkshire (Nr Selby)
Monday – Friday, 7.00am to 5.00pm (47.5 hours per week)

Lunch Break: 30 minutes

Role Overview

Working in the Print Department with Machine Operatives assisting and fulfilling all aspects of operating a Screen-Printing Machine printing on glass.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

The tasks involved in operating a machine safely and to the highest standard vary and include the following:

• Safety checks on the equipment you are using


• Setting up the machines for different jobs


• Checking and changing the screens and inks throughout the printing cycle


• Checking for defects, print quality and inspection


• Producing samples for pre-production approval


• Assisting with machine strip down and cleaning

Skills & Experience Required

Prior experience in a print production role, preferably working with Debuit (preferable but not essential)) and semi auto screen printing machines.

• Strong attention to detail and an eye for visual and physical quality.


• Good communication skills, for dealing with internal teams.


• Ability to organise and prioritise workloads effectively.


• A team player with a proactive attitude and hands-on approach.


• Must be enthusiastic and committed to learning new skills and working in a fast-paced efficient team environment.


• Knowledge of ISO 9001 procedures and compliance -preferable but not essential
