Job summary

Job Overview

There is an exciting vacancy within the Argyll and Bute HSCP School Health service for an experienced SCPHN School Nurse. The successful candidate will lead service change, embed best practices, and demonstrate clinical effectiveness, sound decision-making, and change management skills.

Key Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of GIRFEC, Child Protection, and Care Experienced processes.
  • Effective communication skills with children, parents, families, colleagues, and multi-agency partners including Education, Social Work, and the third sector.
  • Ability to travel efficiently within Mid Argyll, Kintyre, and Islay to meet operational needs.
  • Leadership skills to support team development and manage caseloads and staff.
  • Responsibility for quality assurance, standards compliance, professional regulation, and responding to complaints.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with adaptability and flexibility.
  • Leadership ability to provide professional guidance across school health teams.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of SCPHN school nursing practices and awareness of developments in the field.
