Job description

Job Summary

To train as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – Health Visiting.

Work alongside the Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor to develop enhanced skills in Specialist Public Health Community Nursing.

Complete the SCPHN Apprentice course at Level 7, meeting the required Apprenticeship Standards, University Academic Standards, and NMC Standards for qualification.

The apprenticeship program combines academic and work-based learning through collaboration between employers and education providers.

50% of the time will be on placement with a designated Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor. The remaining 50% will be university-based, including study days and assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with children, young people, and families to explore solutions, plan interventions, and promote public health based on assessments alongside colleagues within Stockport Family.
  • Adhere to NMC standards for registration and practice, ensuring safety and acting as a role model.
  • Implement standards from national directives, local policies, and SOPs.
  • Reflect on practice to contribute to service improvement and support colleagues.
  • Work within the Stockport Family integrated service, applying principles of restorative practice.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and quality care in line with Trust values, governance, and quality assurance.
