Job summary

SSE plc in Scotland seeks a Development Project Manager to oversee the development phase of large capital projects across the north of Scotland. You will lead site and route selection, manage surveys and stakeholder interfaces, and ensure consentable designs within budget and timescales.

The role focuses on coordinating multi-discipline teams, maintaining safety and environmental standards, and transitioning projects toward delivery. A degree and PM qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification with professional body membership
• Desirable project management qualification
• Experience in early development of large capital projects
• Experience with NEC3 contracts and regulatory approvals
• Excellent stakeholder engagement across complex interfaces

Responsibilities

• Evaluate project concepts and designs, drive refinement to a consentable, constructable option within budget and programme
• Select and coordinate sites and routes, oversee surveys and studies for initial designs
• Manage interfaces across workstreams to ensure smooth handover to delivery teams and partners
• Guide multi-discipline teams using robust project management tools to deliver deliverables up to construction
• Provide safety and environmental leadership to minimise impact and protect wellbeing
