About your role

The Antibody Engineering group is a unit within the newly established Orion Biologics R&D UK Center, responsible for discovering and developing biologics for clinical use from early research through clinical development.

Job Description

Orion Pharma is establishing a new Biologics Research & Development Center in Cambridge, UK, aiming to expand into biologics modalities such as multi-specific antibodies, ADCs, and CAR-T cells. The role involves leading mammalian display platforms for antibody discovery and optimization, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating across research teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership in mammalian display campaigns
• Lead optimization of mammalian display techniques
• Track and store mammalian display pools
• Perform and analyze NGS from antibody campaigns
• Enhance antibody developability analysis tools
• Help establish laboratory infrastructure
• Guide and mentor junior scientists and research associates
• Collaborate with cross-functional research groups
• Identify external partners and manage technology transfers
• Contribute to project discussions, ensuring alignment with timelines
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory policies

This is a full-time position based in Cambridge, UK, with relocation support. Reporting to the Head of Antibody Discovery, Orion Pharma.

Our Expectations

• Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or related with 3+ years industrial experience, or MS with 5+ years
• Experience with mammalian display technologies, FACS, flow cytometry, and NGS analysis
• Ability to construct mammalian display libraries
• Expertise in antibody/protein discovery and structure/function relationships
• Strong collaboration, decision-making, and communication skills
