Job summary

Pertemps Reading is seeking a highly skilled Scientific Software Engineer to join a forward‑looking technology team. Qualifications

PhD in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience, ideally in compilers, programming languages or computer architecture.
Strong Python experience.
Experience with a compiled language such as C++, Rust, Julia, Haskell or OCaml.
Experience with compiler development and SSA.
Understanding of modern software development, including Git, testing, CI/CD and debugging.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain compiler infrastructure and SSA-based intermediate representations.
Design and develop programming languages and software tools.
Integrate simulation tools into software and cloud platforms.
Work closely with scientists and engineers to develop technical solutions.
Test, debug, optimise and maintain high-quality software.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
