Job summary

University of Plymouth is seeking a Diving Specialist/Supervisor/Instructor to support HSE SCUBA operations at the University Marine Station in Plymouth. The post offers part-time, permanent hours (21.46 per week) with a pro rata annual salary of £39,906–£46,049.

Qualifications

• Experience in scuba diving training and supervision
• Knowledge of HSE Diving at Work Regulations
• Ability to teach and assess professional and scientific diving

Responsibilities

• Train & Assess – Deliver high-quality HSE SCUBA training, instruction and assessment for students and staff.
• Supervise & Safeguard – Oversee diving operations in line with regulations and university requirements.
• Enable Marine Science & Research – Support undergraduate, postgraduate and research diving activities.
• Develop the Diving Provision – Collaborate to continually improve training programmes and delivery methods.
