Job summary

The University of Plymouth invites applications for an HSE SCUBA Specialist / Diving Supervisor / Instructor at the Marine Station, Coxside, Plymouth. You will train and supervise students and researchers in professional and scientific diving, ensuring compliance with Diving at Work Regulations and university procedures.

You will work with the Scientific Diving Manager to develop training and expand the diving provision while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• HSE SCUBA qualification required as a minimum.
• Significant post-qualification commercial diving experience on SCUBA.
• Experience supervising commercial diving operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality HSE SCUBA training, instruction and assessment.
• Supervise academic and scientific diving operations ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Support undergraduate/postgraduate diving activities and fieldwork.
• Collaborate to improve training programmes and deliver a progressive academic diving service.
