Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Defence Diving School Maintainer Instructor in Portsmouth to deliver high quality maintenance and instructional support for military diving equipment. The role supports a blended working pattern and requires maintaining equipment to standard PMS procedures.

You will work with MoD staff and lead training, updating documentation and ensuring environmental, health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience servicing mechanical/electrical equipment in a marine or military setting.
  • Ability to fault find, diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Maintenance of diving equipment or lifesaving equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality maintenance and instruction on military diving equipment.
  • Maintain equipment to PMS standards and record maintenance and defects.
  • Instruct courses as directed by the Lead Instructor and update training documentation as needed.
  • Develop SQEP in line with company guidelines and policy.

Role & Responsibilities

To deliver high quality Maintenance /Instruction on specific Military diving equipment in line with Company standards and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Continually improve the way they contribute to the business
  • Ensure that they are best equipped to support future change
  • Ensure that they work in an effective collaborative manner with MoD staff, displaying the appropriate behaviours always.
  • Be ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement’.
  • Any other duties required to complete the Training Equipment Service.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of the equipment within their area of responsibility to standard laid down in the Planned Maintenance Schedules (PMS), to record the maintenance carried out, report all defects, material shortcomings and design deficiencies as appropriate.
  • To be responsible for the replacement, issue, storage, return and defect repair on all equipment within their area of responsibility.
  • To instruct maintenance in accordance with relevant Instructional Specifications on their primary subject.
  • To assist Lead Instructor in updating training documentation, related to their primary subject, to reflect equipment maintenance.
  • To instruct courses, iaw ISpec, for which SQEP is held, as directed by Lead Instructor.
  • To gain and maintain both technical and instructional qualification and experience in secondary subjects as directed by Line Management.
  • To gain and maintain instructional & technical SQEP in accordance with company guidelines and policy.
  • To be custodian of Articles in Use account and maintain their account iaw with latest instructions
  • Deliver briefings to staff or trainees as required by Line Management.
  • Ensure that the maintenance of all Team Fisher (DDS) Training Equipment is carried out to enable equipment performance standards to be met and the training programme maintained.
  • Record the implementation of equipment maintenance on existing systems, to ensure performance is maintained in accordance with manufactures technical guidance.
Required experience
  • Previous experience of servicing mechanical/electrical equipment in a marine and/or military environment.
  • Previous experience of fault finding, diagnosing and repairing mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Maintenance of Diving Equipment or similar Safety to Life Equipment
Desirable experience
  • Level 3Teaching Qualification.
  • ECDL or equivalent demonstratable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace.
