Science Tutor Position at TP Tutors

TP Tutors are seeking dedicated and passionate Science Tutors to work with pupils outside the traditional school setting. You will provide one-on-one Science tuition in the home, local community, or school to help students improve their skills, gain confidence, and reach their academic goals.

Location: Gateshead (and surrounding areas)

Role: Science Tutor

Salary: £25 to £35 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Deliver personalised Science lessons tailored to each student’s needs and learning styles.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback using our online reporting tool.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with students, fostering a growth mindset and confidence in Science.
• Assist with exam preparation, homework, and understanding scientific concepts.
• Adapt teaching methods for different levels and learning preferences.
• Have strong knowledge of the Combined Science National Curriculum for Key Stage 3 and 4.
• Previous experience tutoring outside of school or with additional needs is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and rapport-building abilities.
• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent tutoring experience is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

All pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanence in the future.
