Job summary

Aston Education Ltd is working with a large Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary school in Lewisham to appoint a full-time Science Technician for immediate start. You will support the science department, prepare and maintain equipment, and ensure a safe, well-resourced learning environment.

The contract is temporary, 35 hours a week, 42.9 paid weeks per year, with a permanent role possible for the right candidate. Excellent facilities and local benefits form part of the package.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science and Mathematics.
• Health & Safety training, COSHH awareness and CLEAPSS guidance.
• Degree in Science is desirable.
• Experience in a laboratory environment, ideally in a school.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the Science department and ensure equipment is available for lessons.
• Maintain, prepare and organise practical materials and ensure safe lab use.
