Job summary

Ullswater Community College is seeking a Science Technician to support the science curriculum, preparing and maintaining specialist equipment and chemicals. You will assist staff with practical lessons and exams and help pupils with hands-on activities to enhance learning.

The role is offered on a full-time or part-time basis and includes opportunities to work within a friendly school community with strong safeguarding commitments. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Organisational skills and a proactive, can-do attitude are essential.
• Interest in science is important to support staff and pupils in practical work.
• Willingness to learn and receive appropriate training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain science equipment, chemicals and other resources.
• Support staff with practical lessons and exams and assist pupils during hands-on activities.
• Liaise with teaching staff over equipment requirements and check stock levels.
