Job summary

Wembley High Technology College is seeking a Science Technician to support KS3-5 practical activities in a high-performing STEM environment. You will prepare, set up and maintain labs and resources, assist teaching staff, and ensure health and safety compliance (CLEAPSS guidance, risk assessments).

DBS disclosure is required. The role supports Medicine, Engineering, Natural Sciences and other STEM pathways and contributes to a busy department’s daily operations.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in science, laboratory science, science technology or a related discipline.
• Willingness to undertake relevant professional development and specialist training.
• A relevant Level 3 qualification or higher in a science-related subject.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and dismantle practical experiments for GCSE, A-level and IB Science with teaching staff.
• Demonstrate and assist with practical activities where appropriate.
• Ensure apparatus, equipment, chemicals, specimens and materials are prepared safely for lessons.
• Provide responsive technical support to teachers and students during lessons.
• Anticipate practical requirements and ensure lessons run smoothly.
• Contribute to development of practical resources and displays in the Science Department.
• Maintain high-quality displays and learning environments.
