Farnborough Sixth Form College is seeking a proactive Science Technician to support the practical and technical aspects of the Science curriculum. The post requires a passion for science, initiative, and the ability to respond to the needs of the teaching team within the science department.

This permanent role offers 37 hours per week during term time and would suit a recent science graduate aiming to gain valuable experience facilitating experiments with young people.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support practical and technical aspects of the Science curriculum.
  • Assist staff and students during experiments and demonstrations.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safety standards.

Job description

Location: Farnborough Sixth Form College

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, term time only

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Science Technician Team within an outstanding Sixth Form College. We are seeking a proactive individual to provide an excellent level of support to both staff and students in the College.

The Role

What are we looking for:

To be successful in this post we are looking for a Science Technician who will support the practical and technical aspects of the Science curriculum. The post requires a passion for science and someone who is a self-starter with initiative, patience and the ability to react to requirements of the teaching team within the science department. The ideal candidate will have a good scientific knowledge and a desire to make a difference to student learning.

This could be a great role for a recent Science graduate who is looking to gain valuable experience facilitating experiments with young people.
