Job summary

Priestley College in Warrington is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support practical science sessions and examinations. The role includes preparing materials, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring COSHH and Health & Safety compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set out materials and equipment for practical work and examinations.
• Ensure adequate stocks of components, ordering within budget.
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations including COSHH.
• Keep laboratories tidy with safe storage of materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• To prepare and set out materials and equipment needed for practical work and examinations
• To ensure adequate stocks are available of all components that may be required by teachers, ordering where authorised within the faculty budget
• To ensure Health and Safety regulations are adhered to, including COSHH
• To ensure that laboratories and other related areas are kept tidy with materials and equipment stored safely

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• A good standard of education (including GCSE Maths and English, minimum Grade C or equivalent)
• A good knowledge of practical's and equipment relevant to a Level 3 Science course (AS/A2 or BTEC Applied Science)
