Job summary

Classroom Talent in Luton is seeking a switched-on Science Technician to support the Science Department's practical lessons and uphold health and safety in the lab.

The role concentrates on setting up chemistry experiments and ensuring teachers have the correct equipment, chemicals and materials. Hours are 8:00–12:30, three days a week (Mon, Wed, Fri), ASAP start, with potential to increase hours.

• Science Graduate with laboratory experience
• Strong communication with pupils, teachers and other technicians
• Excellent attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Assemble apparatus for demonstrations according to lesson plans
• Ensure safe, compliant waste disposal procedures

A brilliant Secondary School in Luton are looking for a switched on Science Technician to join their current team of Science Technicians, who support the Science Department. As a Science Technician, you will be helping to set-up and run practical lessons alongside a class teacher, as well as maintaining health and safety protocols in the laboratory.

The main focus of the role will be setting up Chemistry experiments and practical lessons, ensuring teachers have the correct equipment, chemicals and materials ready for their classes.

• Based within a Secondary School Science Department
• Science Technician
• £14-£15 per hour
• Part time - 3 days a week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday
• Start Time - 8am - 12.30pm
• Opportunity for hours and days to increase
• Start ASAP -until April 2027 minimum
• Based in Luton, Bedfordshire

Science Technician Key Responsibilities
