Putney High School is seeking a Science Technician to join their vibrant Science team. This full-time role involves supporting students in Key Stage 3 and 4 through practical experiments in a collaborative environment. Salary: GDST Support Staff pay scale, Grade 3 (£30,289 - £35,965 per annum). Actual salary: £25,377 - £30,132 per annum, dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time & Term-time plus 10 days
Required from: September 2025
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Science Technician to join our specialist team, working in partnership with dedicated teachers in a thriving and well-established Science department. The Science Technician will have key responsibilities in supporting teaching at Key Stage 3 and 4, and will prepare and deliver Science practicals.
Science at Putney is about the will to find out. We aim to open up the minds of the students to an understanding of the value, relevance and importance of scientific endeavour in the world around them. Experimentation is at the heart of our approach and we take full advantage of the excellent laboratories, resources and facilities here. We are well supported by separate specialist technicians in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, as well as a Key Stage 3 & 4 technician. Teachers and technicians work very much as a team, with each member having their own responsibilities, and we regularly come together to share experiences and ideas.
