Science Technician - Secondary School - South Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Daily Rate: 100 - 110

Tradewind Recruitment are proud to be working with a successful and inclusive secondary school in South Manchester, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Science Technician to support their vibrant science department.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a science graduate looking to develop hands-on experience in an educational environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing materials for lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the smooth operation of practical science activities.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and setting up equipment and resources for science experiments

  • Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons

  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring cleanliness and safety

  • Managing stock levels and ordering materials when required

  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards, including COSHH regulations

  • Providing general support to the science department as needed



Requirements:

  • A science-related degree is essential - applicants without a science degree will not be considered

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

  • A team player with a professional and proactive approach

  • Previous experience in a lab or school setting is desirable but not essential

  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

This position is to start as soon as possible, with a daily rate of 100 to 110, depending on experience and qualifications.
