Job summary

GSL Education London Branch is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician to join one of our partner schools in Tower Hamlets. This long-term opportunity supports teachers and students with science lessons and experiments.

As a Science Technician, you will help ensure laboratories are well prepared, safe, and ready for lessons, working closely with teaching staff to support practical learning across the science department.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar practical role is desirable.
• Good knowledge of laboratory equipment and safe working practices.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A careful, reliable, and practical approach to work.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, materials, and resources for practical science lessons.
• Set up and clear away equipment before and after experiments.
• Ensure laboratories are clean, organised, and ready for use.
• Support teachers during practical lessons where required.
• Maintain and safely store laboratory equipment and resources.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling equipment and materials.
• Report any damaged or faulty equipment to the relevant staff.
