Science Technician

Are you a recent Science Graduate (Chemistry, Biology and Physics) looking to put your skillset to practice? A brilliant Secondary School in Newham is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate graduate to join their team within the Science Department. As a Science Technician, you will lead and oversee Health and Safety within the department, prepare for experiments, and add excitement to Science lessons. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable laboratory experience and a good first step for aspiring teachers.

Role Details

Role: Science Technician

Location: Secondary School Science Department, London Borough of Newham

Salary: £110 - £115 per day

Contract: Full-time, Mon - Fri

Key Responsibilities
  • Mixing and making up solutions for lessons
  • Assembling the apparatus for demonstrations according to lesson plans
  • Safe and proper waste disposal following procedures
  • Trialing new activities and experiments before being put into practice within the classroom
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Carry out risk assessments and follow health and safety procedures
  • And other duties as needed within the science department
