Job summary

Harris Academy Sutton is seeking a Science Technician to provide technical support to the Science Department, ensuring the smooth running of practical classes and maintaining a safe laboratory environment. The role is based in Carshalton, United Kingdom, with a salary in the region of £25,566 to £25,932, paid across 38 weeks per year and full-time hours.

You will assist with setting up equipment, handling chemicals safely, and managing your own workload while supporting teachers and students

Qualifications

• A Level or equivalent in science required.
• COSHH training is desirable.
• Basic Health and Safety knowledge required.
• Good understanding of chemicals and their properties.
• Experience as a school technician or educational establishment.
• Ability to manage own workload.

The actual salary for this role will be £25,566.11 - £25,931.85 (38 weeks per year, 37.5 hours per week).

We would like to hear from you if you have:

• Qualifications to A Level or equivalent (A Level in either physics, chemistry or biology)
• COSHH training as appropriate
• Basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
• Good understanding of a range of chemicals and their properties
• Experience or solid understanding of working as a technician in a school or educational establishment, undertaking a range of practical tasks
• Experience of managing and being responsible for own workload.
