Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Science Technician for a secondary school in the South West Birmingham area. The role focuses on supporting effective teaching and learning in a busy Science department, with emphasis on reliable equipment setup and safety.

The ideal candidate will have prior school experience, be organised and proactive, able to manage a varied workload, and work both independently and as part of a wider school team to help students get the most from science lessons.

• Ensure laboratories, preparation rooms and storage areas are kept safe and tidy.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and maintaining supplies.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including the safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals and other materials.
• Assist with routine maintenance of equipment and report any faults or concerns.
