A brilliant and well-established secondary school in Northampton is looking for an experienced Science Technician to join its busy science department.
The successful candidate will provide essential practical support to teaching staff and help ensure laboratories, equipment and resources are ready for lessons.
Preparing practical lessons and experiments.
Setting up laboratory equipment and resources.
Preparing materials for demonstrations and investigations.
Supporting teachers during practical activities.
Maintaining laboratories and preparation rooms.
Cleaning and safely storing scientific equipment.
Ordering and replenishing resources.
Checking equipment before use.
Reporting faulty or damaged equipment.
Maintaining laboratory records.
Following COSHH and school health and safety procedures.
Supporting the wider science department with practical requirements.
Previous experience working as a Science Technician within a school is essential.
Previous secondary school laboratory experience.
Good understanding of laboratory safety.
Strong organisational and practical skills.
Methodical approach to work.
Ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines.
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
