Job summary

New Directions Education Ltd is seeking a passionate Science Teacher to support secondary schools across the Wrexham area with flexible day-to-day supply and longer-term opportunities. You’ll need QTS and confidence delivering engaging lessons that keep students curious and learning.

Whether your speciality is Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a bit of everything, we’d love to hear from you. DBS checks are required and you’ll join a network of branches across the UK.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS status.

Responsibilities

• Teach all areas of your science specialism.
• Organise the classroom and resources to create a positive environment.
• Plan, prepare and teach lessons catering for mixed abilities.
• Motivate pupils with engaging, imaginative presentations.
• Meet requirements for assessment and recording of pupil progress.
• Coordinate activities within the curriculum area and support colleagues.
• Stay up to date with changes in the curriculum structure.
• Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly across schools.

Job Specification

If you specialise in teaching biology, physics, or chemistry and are seeking a role in a school, we’ve got opportunities for you, especially if you’re a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or interested in supply teaching.

As a Science Teacher you’ll be expected to:

• Hold QTS status
• Teach all areas of your subject specialism
• Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
• Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
• Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
• Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
• Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
• Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
