Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher for a Secondary School in the Wigan/Warrington area. The role covers Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering Biology, Chemistry and Physics with engaging, high-quality lessons.

Starting in September, the post offers weekly pay, and opportunities for professional development within a supportive education team across the Wigan and Warrington area.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Science or related subject.
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Science in a Secondary School is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons to students of varying abilities.
  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and targeted support.
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment focused on wellbeing and achievement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school activities.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive Secondary School in the Wigan and Warrington area. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of the world around them.

We are currently recruiting for positions starting in September and would be happy to discuss the role in more detail with shortlisted candidates.

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons to students of varying abilities.
  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to deliver Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic achievement and student wellbeing.
  • Utilise innovative teaching strategies to encourage engagement and a love of Science.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, staff training, and wider school activities.
  • A degree in Science or a related subject.
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience teaching Science within a Secondary School setting is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, continuous professional development, and high-quality teaching.
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply.
  • Weekly pay in line with the National Teacher Pay Scale.
