Job summary

Outcomes First Group’s Jubilee School in Waterlooville seeks a Science Teacher to deliver engaging GCSE science in small groups and 1:1 settings, crafting personalised lessons that meet students where they are and help them achieve more than expected.

You’ll collaborate with LSAs and care staff, track progress, and contribute to IEPs and Behaviour Plans, ensuring a supportive, inclusive classroom for pupils with SEMH and complex needs.

Qualifications

• QTS or PgCert Ed or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Science to GCSE level.
• Creative and flexible approach to adapting lessons for individual students and small groups.
• Resilience and confidence to support young people with challenging behaviour or complex barriers to learning.
• Genuine belief that every young person can achieve with the right support and opportunities.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and high-quality education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Science lessons up to GCSE level, adapting teaching to individual needs and learning styles.
• Create practical learning experiences that build knowledge, confidence, independence and love of Science.
• Build positive relationships with students and provide calm, consistent support for those facing barriers to learning or challenging behaviour.
• Track progress and contribute to Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Plans with purposeful support.
• Work with LSAs, tutors, care staff and other professionals to provide consistent support.
• Contribute to the development of Science across the school and help create a stimulating learning environment.

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.30am – 4.30pm

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role

Are you a Science Teacher looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference every day? You’ll work with young people in small groups and 1:1 settings, creating engaging, personalised Science lessons that meet students where they are and help them achieve more than they thought possible.
