Job summary

Education Personnel are partnering with a Derby secondary school to recruit a dedicated Science Teacher for a full-time role commencing April 2026.

The ideal candidate will deliver KS3 and KS4 science, with KS5 teaching possible, plan and assess lessons, monitor pupil progress, and contribute to departmental improvement and school events.

Qualifications

  • QTS required and active status in the UK.
  • Minimum 6 months of classroom teaching experience in a UK secondary school.
  • Science teaching for KS3/KS4 with potential KS5.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the KS3 & KS4 Science curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess Science lessons in line with department policies
  • Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions
  • Contribute to department improvement planning Science
  • Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents' evenings as required

Overview

Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated Science Teacher for a full-time position starting April 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Science educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS4 and potentially Science at KS5.

Key Responsibilities

The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching Science experience in a UK secondary setting
  • Is passionate about Science education and student achievement
  • Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
