Job summary

Flourish Education is recruiting a dedicated Science Teacher for a full-time, long-term placement at a Coventry secondary school from September 2026 to July 2027. You will teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics across KS3/KS4, delivering engaging lessons aligned to the National Curriculum.

The role requires QTS or ECT, strong subject knowledge, and excellent classroom and behaviour management. The school offers CPD, holiday pay and supportive departmental environment.

Qualifications

  • QTS or ECT status required.
  • Experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in a UK secondary school.
  • Strong knowledge of Science across KS3 and KS4.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
  • Experience planning and delivering lessons independently.
  • Organised, reliable and committed to student progress.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Follow the National Curriculum and adapt lessons for all learners.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress with effective feedback.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and implement school policies.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives.
  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.

Flourish Education is working with a welcoming secondary school in Edgwick, Coventry that is looking to appoint a dedicated Science Teacher for a full-time, long-term position from September 2026 until July 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Science department within a school that is committed to providing high-quality education and helping every student achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering engaging Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons that inspire curiosity, build confidence, and encourage academic success.

Job Role
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

  • Follow the National Curriculum and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing effective feedback to support achievement

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour management and implement school policies consistently

  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives

  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents

Required Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT)

  • Experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics within a UK secondary school

  • Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum at KS3 and KS4

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Experience planning and delivering lessons independently

  • Organised, reliable, and committed to supporting student progress

What We Offer
  • Full-time Science Teacher role from September 2026 until July 2027

  • Pay from £174.71 to £240.70 per day, equivalent to £34,068 to £46,937 per annum, based on working five days per week for a full school year (M1-M6), depending on experience
