Job summary

Staffordshire University Academy invites an experienced science teacher to become Lead Practitioner, shaping teaching and learning across the science faculty. You will model outstanding practice, lead a development area, and drive robust assessment, recording and reporting of student progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading science teaching and curriculum delivery.
• Ability to coach colleagues and drive CPD across the faculty.
• Experience with assessment data to improve progress.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consistently high-quality, inspiring and engaging science teaching that supports excellent outcomes for all students.
• Demonstrate and promote the vision, values and ethos of Staffordshire University Academy.
• Act as a model of outstanding classroom practice, supporting high standards of teaching and learning across the science's faculty.
• Lead an agreed aspect of faculty development within science, contributing to continuous improvement.
• Support the effective implementation and delivery of the science curriculum to meet the needs of all students.
• Use evidence-informed practice and assessment effectively to improve student progress, attainment and outcomes.
• Support high-quality assessment, recording, tracking and reporting of student progress across the faculty.
• Provide effective leadership, coaching and professional support to colleagues to develop teaching practice.
• Work collaboratively with students, parents/carers, colleagues and leaders to support student achievement and engagement.
• Actively engage with the academy's appraisal and professionaldevelopment processes, including completing an annual evidence-informed research project.
