Job summary

Worksop College and Ranby House is seeking a Middle Leadership candidate to drive high-quality Science teaching and learning. You will plan and audit a hands-on science programme, link with STEM workshops and British Science initiatives, and lead staff to deliver an engaging curriculum across the centre.

You will collaborate with other departments, support parental communication, and promote Science within the school and community. A strong commitment to CPD and safeguarding is essential.

• Track pupil progress to high academic achievement.
• Deliver UK National Curriculum to mixed-ability class.
• Understand accountability and parental expectations in independent schools.
• Graduate with Qualified Teaching Status.
• Competent IT skills to support teaching and IT admin tasks.
• Child Protection and Safeguarding training provided by the school.
• First Aid Training provided by the school.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and assess a Science programme with hands-on learning.
• Lead Science delivery linked to STEM workshops and events.
• Complete subject audits and update science development plans.
• Lead by example in planning and delivery of Science and support staff.
• Build professional relationships with staff and external bodies.
• Coordinate cross-curricular science links in lessons and trips.
• Review and update science policies with staff.
• Deliver sensitive topics in line with policy and guidance.
• Lead staff training on new initiatives/legislation in science.
• Promote Science and STEM in school and wider community.
• Raise Ranby House profile by arranging pupil experiences.
