Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a Science Technician in a secondary school in Haringey. The role supports teachers and students in delivering practical science lessons with safe, well-prepared equipment and resources.

You will maintain labs, assist with demonstrations, and help manage stock while following COSHH and health and safety policies. This is a full-time position starting November 2026, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience in setting up and supporting science practicals in a school or lab.
• Knowledge of COSHH and safety procedures in a school lab.
• Good organisational and time-management skills for busy practical days.
• Ability to work with teachers, support staff and students in a calm, proactive way.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up equipment, chemicals, materials and resources for lessons.
• Support teachers with demonstrations and practical activities.
• Keep laboratories clean, safe and ready for use.
• Maintain and safely store equipment and stock; monitor levels and reorder when needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety guidance and COSHH rules.
